Michael Jonsson is the President and owner of Sacramento Divorce Solutions, Inc.  He started practicing family law in Sacramento in 1993, and through the years his personal practice evolved from litigation, to one exclusively using Divorce and Family Mediation.  He remains focused on resolving family conflicts. In 2013, he was honored as one of Sacramento’s Top Lawyers, by the Sacramento Business Journal (“Best of the Bar”, September 6, 2013). Mike uses his Divorce and Family Mediation expertise to help clients resolve a full range of conflicts, including those involving divorce, custody, property division, child support, and spousal support issues.

Mike is a member of the Family Law Sections of both the California State Bar Association (www.calbar.ca.gov), and Sacramento County Bar Association (www.sacbar.org). He was the 2004 Chairperson of the Children’s Counsel Section of the Sacramento County Bar Association; the 2005 – 2006 Chairperson of the Custody Subcommittee of the Family Law section of the Sacramento County Bar Association (a working group of judges, court administrators, mental health experts, and attorneys, who reviewed and made policy recommendations to the Court on family law practice issues); and the 2011 Chairperson of the Sacramento County Bar Family Law Section, as well as serving on its executive committee from 2008 – 2012.

Mike has trained family mediators on ethical issues, and attorneys for Court appointment to represent children in family law matters. He has also trained attorneys for appointment as Special Masters on Custody Issues, and was invited as a guest lecturer at the U.C. Davis School of Law on the Collaborative Practice process. Mike is a member of the Academy of Professional Family Mediators (www.apfmnet.org); the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (www.afcc.org); and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (www.collaborativepractice.com).

Hellen J. Hernandez is an Associate Attorney at Sacramento Divorce Solutions, Inc.  She focuses on litigated family law matters in Sacramento and adjacent counties. Hellen’s legal career began in 1997 as a legal assistant in a Sacramento bankruptcy law firm. In 1998, Hellen began working for Mike as his legal assistant, and has worked for or with him ever since. She is fluent in Spanish.

Hellen attended night school to finish her education, obtaining her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2008, and her Law Degree from Lincoln Law School of Sacramento in 2013. Before becoming a licensed attorney, Hellen was also trained as a Professional Family Mediator.
